RoCKBoDZ Biographies
 
Maria Dunlop
I am fortunate to have found my passion in life.
 
I decided to be a Personal Trainer after meeting a Manager of a Gym who believed that I could change my body and be up on stage in my first bodybuilding competition within a year.
 
To have someone believe in you 100% with no doubts at all was amazing.
Thats what I wanted to do, inspire and motivate people.
 
I did indeed make it to the stage within that year, and my life changed forever.
 
I then worked towards my Fitness and Nutrition Diploma while getting lots of hands on Experience on the gym floor.
I was so lucky to be able to learn from a Trainer who had so much knowledge of the body and resistance training. The information I learnt in this gym was priceless.
 
So the last 2 decades I have spent Personal Training.
Along with Personal Training I also did 5 years at Jenny Craig, working as a weight loss consultant.
This added to my knowledge of nutrition and gave me more skills in motivating and listening/questioning clients. It also taught me the trends in motivation, the power of emotional eating and other eating triggers that we all have.
 
Along with Qualifications it is beneficial to have walked in your clients shoes.
 
I know what it is like to struggle with bodyfat issues,motivation declines, training with arthritis, being a busy mum, dieting for a competition, emotional eating, the effect of the weather on motivation, the disappointment with not getting results as fast as you would like.
 
I have learnt to never give up and so can you.
 
 
I believe in getting back to the basics.
 Resistance Training is amazing and so very good for us.
 
To feel the strength and power of your muscles gives you a trust in your body that is undeniable.
