Competition Countdown
 Week 3

Glad to be through last week, it got a little tough around Friday and Saturday.
Had my Humira injection on Thursday and because the main side effect is that it grows infection, the bug that I was almost over flared up big time. My throat was so sore and my body started to feel real fluey.

By Saturday everything was so hard to do.
I managed my cardio all wrapped up with vicks vapour rub all round my neck, and then I had to do shoulders and abs.
Well this was the most un-enjoyable work-out! But I stuck to the plan and climbed the stairs afterwards and collapsed on the couch for a few hours.

I had a big meal of meat and salad that night and added in an ice cream as I felt too carb depleted.
When I woke on Sunday I felt so much better.

I am making great progress and am right on track.

The best part of all is that I am still Pain free.
Wow I have had 2 weeks now of being pain free!!!!
Is this how people live all the time??????
My god it feels fabulous, to sleep well without pain, to train without pain, to play with my children without pain, Oh to Live without Pain – amazing.

If the inflammation stays out of my body it will make everything so much easier and more enjoyable.
This week I started practicing posing in my killer heels and my foot slid into them like Cinderella’s glass slipper. This is the first time in 4 years that I have been able to wear them without the rheumatoid pain and inflammation in my feet. Gee it made it a whole lot more enjoyable.

I am not the only one who has climbed mountains and felt that feeling of achievement.
My Son can now ride his 2 wheeler all by himself.
He has been practicing for a long time, but lacked that little bit of confidence to just take off without Mummy by his side.
This week he did it and now every minute of everyday he is asking if we can go for another bike ride.

On the afternoon he achieved his goal we were sitting back in the lounge buzzing about his achievement and he said to me “Boy Mummy, this feeling of proudest is amazing”.

It’s just what he needed.
All the Preparation patience and practice paid off.
I was the proud Mother on the street “whoop whooping” with pride.

Things will probably never be quite as simple when it comes to my daughter.

She is on a 2 wheeler now but with the trainer wheels still on.

Her left leg has a lot of trouble pushing the peddle and she can not go far before she is exhausted.
Because of the left hemeplegia she has to concentrate so much more than normal and she burns off a lot more calories and needs loads more sleep than the average 5 year old.
Still she amazes me with her courage.
She is peddling for herself but when it comes time to steer, balance and hit the brakes it’s all too much and we have had some close calls.
It takes a lot of patience and as a parent you need to remind yourself of just how well she is doing.
We have had the odd day where she breaks down and cries because she can’t do what she wants to.
We recently had her eyes checked and got the “thumbs up” which is good, so the doctors said to go ahead and increase her medication to control her seizures.

She told me the other night that her eyesight has changed and she is not feeling very well.
Ever since Eva was very little she has been able to communicate with me, piecing sentences together at a very young age. This has made it easy for me to work out how she is feeling. It usually shows on her face to, when she is not well she goes real pale and her eyes go very dull.
I was hoping to get her meds sorted over the holidays so she can start school feeling lots better but can’t get into her specialist now till February.
I am not sure if she should stop the meds or if I need to increase them again.
So the Patience will have to kick in on this matter as well.

Thank goodness I am working on being calmer this year!!!!!!!!

So far we are having a nice relaxing holiday, sleeping in and chilling out, I have had clients most mornings and in the afternoon we do something crafty like painting driftwood and other cool things.
We have a nice big vase full of colourful driftwood, it looks real cool.

The week ahead should be full of some very exciting news, and then I am in for a very busy 3-4 weeks. Here’s hoping everything goes to plan.

My focus is on maintaining my weight workouts and making sure I fit in my cardio.
I need to practice some more posing and finish making my posing suit.
If the sun decides to shine some more then we will be doing a whole lot more bike riding to.
Living another week pain free is going to be fabulous.
